Birds of Paradise – Lobe Art by Melinda Myrow
From Boulder, Colorado artist Melinda Myrow comes Birds of Paradise — a pair of show-stopping dangle earrings that blur the line between jewelry and fine art. Each earring is a large, sculptural form — fish-like in silhouette, feathered in texture, and suspended as if caught mid-flight — rendered in a breathtaking palette of deep purples, brilliant blues, maroons, and black.
Crafted from a lightweight base material encased in resin and deeply heat-treated, the finish is luminous and glass-like, with a feathered quality that gives each piece an almost organic, living presence. At approximately 8-9cm (around 3.5 inches) in length, they make a bold statement — yet feel like almost nothing on the ear.
Part of Myrow's Lobe Art line, Birds of Paradise are wearable sculptures — bold, one-of-a-kind works of art born from a lifelong fine art practice.
